Memkoh Facelift and a Summer throwback

Did you notice that the entire Memkoh website got a facelift?

Building this site was emotionally overwhelming, and I dished all about it (more like poured out my heart) in the latest issue of The Memkoh Newsletter. Everything there explains why we've been away for the past month. It was deep, I tell you but it feels so good to be back, connecting with you. If you signup here, I'll send you that issue.

With that said, I want to officially announce our new look in our own little corner of the web as well as give you a few pointers to navigating the site. We launched exactly a week from today and so far, the reviews have been good. Thank you to those who took the time to give feedback.

Navigating our new site is easy. On the front page, we have a video that explains the Memkoh Box. Clicking the "Revolutionary Styling" button directly below this video will lead you to the Memkoh Box page where you can learn all about the Memkoh Box and order yours...right from the same page! By minimizing the number of pages you have to click away from, I get to keep you longer on my site *wink*.

However, the Services tab doesn't have a preview of the services in a drop down fashion. I did this intentionally to lead you to the main Services page called "At a Glance". By being able to see the range of services I offer at once, you'll be able to make a better informed decision before booking. I also included pictures that are quite self-explanatory for each service. They may or may not sway away from your desired service, leaving room for you to explore. Sometimes you think you know what you want until all your options are explained to you. For example, you might know that I am a Personal Stylist, but you might not know that I am a Wedding Stylist and a Lookbook Stylist too. You might not know that regardless of your location, the Virtual Styling option will cater to your styling needs. All this explains why that page is formated that way. #MemkohLifehacks

The rest of the tabs are easy to navigate, with the Blog, Portfolio, Contact and Shop pages. The About page is short because I don't intend to keep you there for long. It includes our "Press & Mentions" and links to where you should go next. Our Blog page is easy to navigate, with featured posts at the top slider and other posts at the bottom. To help you easily sign up for my newsletter, shop our coveted items of the week, etc. I included a side panel. It's available on desktop on the side but shows up at the bottom on mobile. Perhaps my favorite features of the blog side panel is the "Speed Book" option for quick and easy appointments as well as the "Report a broken link" button, just in case you find one around here. As you can see, my site is incredibly user-friendly.

The Shop page will mostly be up on weekends but for these first few weeks of re-launch, I'll leave it active on weekdays. Remember, that is our Weekend Shop. We'll be back to that schedule soon.

Overall, I loved building this website and I'm grateful to my friend for all the tips she gave me earlier this year. It made me think of the process differently, i.e. "What do my users want? and What do I need them to know?" All these were answered with the New Memkoh site. Call it a Facelift!

STYLE

I wore this outfit to my friend's baby shower. It was such a beautiful event. I matched her decoration which is no surprise because yellow is that happy color and summer is the perfect time to don yellow or be in love with all things yellow. This made this look my second favorite look of the summer. Styling my African print maxi skirt by Style Oasis with a solid-colored lace top was the simplest way to express myself on that hot summer day and I loved it.

I talked about this look in my last style post. If you notice, the scarf looks similar. That's because I didn't take it off my head that night after returning from the baby shower. How did I sleep? I have no idea. All I knew was that the probability of doing a photoshoot the next day was high, so the scarf dared not move an inch...even in my sleep!

STYLE TIP

Make this outfit go from summer to fall with the addition of a nice, flowy waterfall coat. A structured coat won't do it justice but a waterfall coat would. It's slightly lighter and will take the shape of the maxi skirt on the bottom half.
