This past weekend, I attended my friend's graduation banquet. Ifeoma is an old friend, so it was nice being invited to celebrate with her.
For my outfit, I didn't do too much. During my personal shopping rounds for a client, I had popped into Zara for a quick exchange and as I walked to the men's section (yes, I style for men too :D book me), I saw a nude dress calling my name. Now, I would normally not shop at Zara but the fabric had a nice texture I could see from afar so I picked it up. As I scurried to the men's section, then fitting room, I saw a similar dress but with short sleeves. It only took me a few micro-seconds to realize that the black was better than the nude. I carted all of them away.
A few wiggles in the fitting room later, I got into all dresses and out came my fave.
Here's evidence of my fitting room wars.
I also didn't realize I had worn this dress backwards until I was ready to take it off. Trust that with the deadline I had set to ship my client's order, I had no time to refit this look. Off I went to checkout and this dress was never worn the right way till the banquet. Let's just say I bought it in faith!. Do you sometimes shop in faith? You've got to tell me all about it in the comments! :)
Okay, back to this look, my friend visited the next day and that was when she invited me for the banquet (perfect, right?). I showed her the dress and she suggested I wear it with my rose gold shoes which her eyes had been fixated on once she walked into my room. It felt good being styled! (not everyday, be the stylist...sometimes, be the styled).
Below are pictures from the banquet. I got dressed in the bathroom by the way.
My friend won an award for Servant Leadership. I had told her earlier in that Nigerian parent voice tone that "I did not come here to play".
Thanks for stopping by to view this post. I bet you didn't know a majority of these pictures were taken in the very picture-esque hotel bathroom. It was all we needed to document our looks.
Here's how I styled this dress in 4 Ways -> here
