It's Friday. Yaaayyyy! Today is so special because we are officially getting started on featuring designs from African designers producing on the continent's soil. We typically do this via Instagram and most of you have mentioned to me how much you appreciate the Memkoh brand exploring these designers' works. Now it's time to bring full collections, not just snippets. A few menswear collections have made it here though, so I guess we're not so new to this.
Today, we are traveling to Nigeria to visit the home of Amarelis Atelier whose designs I recently came across and instantly fell in love.
Inspiration behind Innocencia de Florence FW2016
According to the design house, the concept for this lookbook was picked up when the creative director, Omolara Cole set eyes on a painting called Innocencia de Florence during one of her travels. It was in Las Vegas to be exact. They say "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas", but we are glad she chose to share this bit with us. Shoot directing and styling was done by Sharon Ojong (rest of the credits below).

Isn't it amazing to see how inspiration spans the breadths and depths of the universe? Where will you find your next inspiration for a huge project like this? Sound off in the comments section and let us know what you think of this collection.
