As promised in my Pretty Pleats post, here is another take on the 9-5 look for young working class women. Though industries vary in terms of dress code, some simple outfits can make it from one industry to another. It's even better with this outfit because the colors are really basic universal - white, black and gray so you won't be raising any eyebrows. Instead, you'll get some "Ahhs" and "Ooohs" from the details each item has.
The 2 outfits included in this post will show you how to seamlessly transition from 9-5 to 5-9. Since today is Friday, you'll need these tips.
I should point out that I eradicated gray from my closet well after my Freshman year. Surprisingly, I've recently developed a penchant for gray and even donned an all-gray outfit to my first day back in school. I hope I'll be tired of gray soon. I know I will, once Spring hits.
5-9: You'll see that it only takes a change of shoes and bag to get comfortable for any after-hours event. Here, my shoes went from the formal closed-toe pair to a pair of comfortable yet sexy strappy sandals (I think every woman should keep a pair in their car). I also swapped out the office bag for a white clutch which I particularly love because of the built-in handle (I should find out what it's really called).
Coat: Missguided || Skirt: Dynamite || Sweater: Express || Handbag: Ross || Clutch: Charming Charlie || White Shoes: CallitSpring || Sandals: JustFab || Watch: Lambretta
It wouldn't be after-work hours if you didn't let down your hair and bust some moves! Want to know the song I was dancing to? Watch the video here so you can join me next time. :)
Would you rock this outfit to work and the moments after? What would you change to make it yours? Thank you for stopping by.
Till next time, Memkoh
