Pencil Me In

I should be fined for just putting up this outfit from my friend's graduation dinner in May. But now I think it works out because you'll get to see how I styled this pencil skirt before I put up the #4WaystoWear post on pencil skirts. Emerald green was one of my favorite colors to wear last year (Pantone color of 2013) that's why I got this skirt in that color (looks like teal in the pictures). Pencil skirts don't always have to be worn with a button down shirt and in this outfit, I played with the same color in different hues. The crop top is a matching pair with a skirt seen in my Istanbul closet and although I got this in Medium (last one in the store), I like how it sat loosely above the skirt. It gave the outfit a bit of proportion. A trench coat completed this outfit for the dinner because it was slightly chilly that night but I skipped it for the retake. Hope you like it. The shoes make this outfit work appropriate too, with a blazer of course.
