Continued from Post 1. I have been blogging anonymously for a while now, for good reason. Allow me to introduce myself...
I am Emem Okoh, a native of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and I just graduated from Drexel University with both a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science & Health Systems and a Certificate in Medical Humanities. Please don’t ask me how I did it, because I didn’t. God did it all! For that reason, I’ll share my full name with you – EmemAbasi, meaning Peace of God in Ibibio, my native language (Emem = Peace; Abasi = God).
"And the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"
- Philippians 4:7
My graduation ceremony was graced with my family, friends, colleagues, well-wishers who couldn't be there. It was such a wonderful day and great event but I must confess to you that I was confuzzled half of the time. I couldn't believe it was over. I think I even looked tired because I had only 4 hours of sleep on my graduation eve (tuuurrrrn up!) and made my hair by myself that morning. Remind me not to have a wedding ceremony. Huge events = drama!
In all, I am immensely grateful to God for making all of this possible, for blessing me with so many good things, surrounding me with beautiful people and for never leaving me throughout my DU experience. I thank my family for their undying support, prayers, encouragement and support. I thank my friends...ahhh!, those ones, for all the wonderful moments, inspiration, encouragement, laughter, smiles, support and of course, endless craziness. I thank even my acquaintances and colleagues for the collaboration, community, occasional hellos and his as we briefly check in on each other while running to class.
I can't thank you enough, my loyal blog readers, for keeping me encouraged through this journey as well. Your daily views mean so much to me and even when the views dwindle, I am reminded that I may be doing something wrong or not doing enough.
Thank you so much, everyone.
WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
